Feast Day of the Immaculate Conception

Just what is the Immaculate Conception? It is when St Anna received Mary in her womb without Original Sin. She and her husband, Joachim, had given up on becoming parents, but God granted this miracle. Nine months later is 8 September, celebrated in Catholic countries as the Virgin Mary’s birthday. This is why was Mary chosen as THE virgin to give birth to Jesus; she was the only one truly pure enough to do so! Mary conceived Christ through AN immaculate conception, but her mother conceived Mary though THE Immaculate Conception. Got it? Well, if not, you’re not Catholic,* as this has been dogma since 1854 (although part of Catholic tradition for many many centuries before!).

*I’m not Catholic either, but, as many of you know, I love learning about religion through art!
